ATLlink is a network of experts and organizations dedicated to linking students facing disciplinary challenges and their families to restorative care, helping students heal and grow. We are a personalized entry point to a range of support services within the City of Atlanta. Our mission is to build a community network connecting Atlanta Public School students facing disciplinary challenges to restorative care and support.

Many students in Atlanta face challenging circumstances that increase their risk of negative outcomes and Adverse Childhood Experiences. Those receiving disciplinary action are at an even higher risk. ATLlink was created to provide student support after Student Disciplinary Tribunals by offering restorative care. Restorative care for students refers to practices that aim to repair relationships, promote positive interactions, and help students take ownership of their actions after conflicts or disruptive behavior.

Who does ATLlink serve?

This school year, ATLlink will pilot by connecting APS students at increased risk of adverse experiences to behavioral, social, and emotional support after serious (Level 3) infractions (see APS Student Code of Conduct) resulting in 4+ days of out of school suspension and other serious (tier 3) discipline outcomes. Additionally, Parents/Guardians seeking support for high risk behavior(s) can voluntarily access ATLlink at Future Forward - no disciplinary infraction required.

APS Students after Student Discipline Hearings for serious infractions

A Student Discipline Hearing is a review process that determines consequences for students involved in serious acts of misconduct that place students or staff at risk of emotional or physical harm which may include threats to the health, safety, and/or property of others, and other acts of serious and repeated misconduct.

APS students & families experiencing gang, weapons, alcohol/drug, & fighting offenses are encouraged to connect with ATLlink.

Restorative Care

Community Connections

Personalized linkage to community partners who provide mentorship, counseling, academic support, and more.

Tools for Success

Development of key life skills, including self-regulation and decision-making, leading to better academic and personal outcomes.

Restorative care can include therapeutic spaces, conflict resolution, peer mediation, and workshops that help students take responsibility for their actions and repair damaged relationships.

We are powered by the connection of our community. ATLlink functions as a network connecting students and their families with a range of community partners that provide therapeutic, supportive, and restorative services. When a family seeks support after a Student Disciplinary Tribunal, ATLlink works with them to develop a restorative support plan that addresses the student’s unique needs, focusing on self-regulation, conflict resolution, and personal growth.
